Seahawk Baseball Camps at Wagner College

Seahawk Baseball Camps at Wagner College are dedicated to providing a baseball camp that is both instructional and information along with creating a great atmosphere to learn!

The coaching staff here at Wagner College prides itself on teaching the game of baseball to players of all ages and ability levels. All camps are taught by our coaching staff and players. The mechanics and drills that are taught at our camps are used with our college players. We are determined to provide the best possible learning experience for our campers.

Our camps range in ages and we should have a program to fit your needs. If you do not see a date that works for you at this time check back to the site as we add new sessions often.

Future Seahawks Baseball Pitcher/Catcher Camp

Description

This camp will teach a simplified version of a division 1 throwing program. We will introduce and practice the mechanics of pitching. As well as, discussion and implementation of the mental side to pitching. We will discuss and practice controlling the running game and fielding our position. 

 

Equipment 
Each player must bring his own baseball equipment. Players should bring a glove, Running Sneakers or Turf Shoes, running shoes or turf shoes, hat, and any other equipment they feel necessary to compete. Catchers must bring their own gear.

 

The Camp will cover the following topics for Pitchers:

  • Throwing Program
  • Pitch Grips
  • Controlling the Running Game
  • Pickoffs
  • The Mental Game
  • Arm Care
  • Strength & Conditioning
  • Chalk Talk Session

 

The Camp will cover the following topics for Catchers:

  • Mobility
  • Stances
  • Receiving
  • Blocking
  • Footwork
  • Throwing
  • Pitcher/Catcher Relationships
  • Pitch Calling

What if I have to cancel a camp?
We do not offer refunds on canceled campers, just a future camp credit if you decide to cancel, but we do have what is called "Cancellation Protection". We offer basic Cancellation Protection to allow participants some peace of mind in case plans change. This allows us to keep our prices low and provide the best service possible. Due at the time of registration, Cancellation Protection entitles you to a full refund of camp fees should you cancel your registration more than 14 days prior to the start of an overnight camp, and 7 days prior to the start of a day camp. If you cancel within 14 or 7 days of the start of your session, we will give you a camp credit for all money paid. The credit is valid for three years from camp date at any of our national locations. Credit with insurance is transferable to family members or friends, and good toward a future camp.

Description

This camp will teach a simplified version of what a division 1 infielder/hitter works on daily to prepare to play games. We will introduce and practice the mechanics of fielding/hitting. As well as, have a discussion and implementation of the mental side to being an infielder.

 

The camp will cover the following topics for infield play:

  • Arm Care
  • Position Specific Daily Throwing Program
  • Daily Fielding Drill Series
  • Glove Work
  • Defensive Positioning
  • Reading Ground Ball Hops

 

The camp will cover the following topics for being a successful hitter:

  • Having a balanced batting stance
  • Proper Hand Path on your swing
  • Concentration on efficient lower half swing mechanics
  • Creating Back Spin Reading Ball Flight
  • Building an approach in the batters box
  • Pitch Recognition

Description

Pitchers will receive concentrated instruction in mechanics and delivery, grips, fielding, pick-off moves, the mental approach and much more. This session is designed for the pitcher who desires serious, comprehensive instruction.
 
Catchers will receive specific instruction on proper setup, glove presentation, receiving, blocking, pop times, throwing programs, handling pitching staffs, as well as skills and tips on how to be a successful catcher at a very high level.

Each camper must bring his own baseball equipment. Players should bring a glove, bat, cleats/spikes, helmet, running shoes or turf shoes, hat, and any other equipment they feel necessary to compete. Catchers must bring their own gear.
