Camp Description


The University of Washington Huskie Baseball Staff and America's Baseball Camps are teaming up to present the Diamond Dawgs Experience.

The Diamond Dawgs Experience is designed for players with aspirations of playing college baseball. Players will receive elite collegiate and professional instruction and an opportunity to meet and learn from the current Washington Baseball coaching staff.

An emphasis will be placed on hitting fundamentals, bunting, pitching techniques, catching, infield play, outfield play, base running strategies, and many mental aspects of being a college baseball player. In addition, scrimmage games are provided to allow the player to implement new techniques learned, and display their skills to college coaches and professional instructors.

Players will spend up to 24 hours daily with our professional staff while receiving verbal assessment of their skills throughout the week. The goal for our staff is to provide the tools you need to take your game to the next level and beyond.

Join the Coaches from the Pac 12 Conference powerhouse Washington Huskies along with a talented group Professional Instructors for this amazing week of baseball.

Each Camper will Receive:
1. 20-24 hours of Top Division I and Professional Instruction
2. Baseball Camp T-Shirt
3. Speed and Agility Training
4. Games for evaluation, experience, and learning
5. Presentations on Recruiting and NCAA Eligibility

1. University of Washington Coaching Staff
2. Current and or former Professional players
3. Current and or former College Coaches, H.S Coaches & Professional Scouts.

Additional Options

Professional Pitching Mechanics or Swing Video Analysis
Players will be evaluated personally with Video Analysis software and have the chance to have their swing and/or their pitching mechanics broken down by a Professional Instructor. Professional Instructors will provide an evaluation of feedback, changes and recommend drills to help fix or improve your swing and/or your pitching mechanics.

We will be conducting an extensive Hitting Camp on August 4th from 11:00am-3:00pm. This camp will cover every aspect of hitting and is a great way to "kick off" the week.

Ball Fields #1 and #2 - turf fields (no metal cleats allowed)

Camp hours:

Aug 4th: Optional Hitting Camp 2:00pm - 6:00pm
Aug 5th: 9:00am - 2:30pm
Aug 6th: 9:00am - 2:30pm
Aug 7th: 9:00am - 2:30pm
Aug 8th: 9:00am - 2:00pm


All Campers should check in at the main baseball diamond at Marymoor Park by 8:30am on the morning of the 5th (hitting campers check in at Marymoor Park by 1:30pm on the 4th).

10:00am: Station work... (Infield, Outfield, Hitting, Pitching, Catching, Baserunning)

As a player you will be evaluated by a professional eye and receive hands on, intense baseball training. Our goal as a staff is to provide you with the tools to better your game, increase your knowledge, skill and confidence and assist in getting you to the next level of play and beyond.

This is what you can expect to work on while at camp:
Stance, Balance, Mechanics, Situational Hitting & Swing Path for hitting
Mental preparation and Hitting Philosophy
Hand-eye coordination drills for all aspects of the game
Opposite field hitting (staying inside the baseball)
Hitting with two strikes - Hitting Off-speed pitches
Situational hitting including Bunting
Base Running with Leads, Steals, etc.
Infield play-corner play & middle infield play
Infield mechanics, huge reps, tweaks, turns, feeds
Outfield play - including throwing from the outfield
Outfield play- routes, positions, jumps, footwork
Pitchers throw during daily scrimmages
Pitching - balance, delivery, pitches, grips & more
Pitching mechanics with fixes all weeklong
Catcher Skills - receiving, blocking, throwing & more
Daily scrimmage games to put all together!

Note: All players will also have the option to train in multiple positions and specific areas of their choice.

What to bring

Remember to label all equipment, equipment bags and belongings with your name and contact info.
Baseball Pants (at least 2 pair)
Baseball T-shirts or jerseys
Baseball socks and sliding (compression) shorts
Cleats (non-metal)
Baseball bat and batting gloves
Helmet (if you have one)
Baseball glove (mitt for catchers)
Catchers gear (catchers only)
Long sleeve shirts or pullover jacket
Water bottle

We will provide lunch at the fields each day.
