Camp Description

 

The "Top Dawg" Prospect camp is designed for players with aspirations of playing college baseball.

Players will receive 3 days of elite collegiate instruction and an opportunity to meet and learn from the current Washington baseball coaching staff. An emphasis will be placed on hitting fundamentals, bunting, pitching techniques, catching, infield play, outfield play, base running strategies, and many mental aspects of being a college baseball player. In addition, scrimmage games and practices are provided to allow the player to implement new techniques learned, and display their skills to college coaches and professional scouts. This camp allows players to use the University of Washington facilities, meet current and former Washington baseball players and be exposed to some of the best instruction in the Northwest!

Note: Players are guaranteed to play their primary position that they choose when registering and the WBS Coaching staff will do their best to provide players playing time at their secondary position as well.

7. Presentations on Recruiting, Weightlifting, Conditioning, and NCAA Eligibility

What to bring:
Each camper must bring his own baseball equipment. Players should bring a glove, bat, batting gloves, helmet, cleats/spikes, running shoes or turf shoes, hat, and any other equipment they feel necessary to compete. Catchers must bring their own gear. Please mark name on all items. The Washington Baseball Camp will not be responsible for lost items.

Additional Information:
A Washington Baseball School athletic trainer will be present during all activity.
Water and Gatorade will be provided continually throughout camp day.

Note: Washington Baseball School welcomes all parents and family members to attend, observe, follow player to stations, take notes, ask questions, video tape as well as take pictures. Please feel free to enjoy the experience along with your player.

Directions

 

Directions to New Husky Ball Park
The camp will be headquartered at Husky Ball Park, on the campus of the University of Washington. Campers will use the Washington main ball field, surrounding rec. turf fields, bullpens, covered hitting facility, and team meeting room.

Directions to Husky Ball park from I-5: Take the NE 45th Street exit (exit #169) from I-5 and continue east on NE 45th Street approximately 1.4 miles to Mary Gates Memorial Drive. Turn right onto Mary Gates Memorial Drive. Go one block and turn right onto Clark Road. At the end of Clark Road you will find the entrance to the E1 lot. Husky Ball park will be on your right.

Directions to Husky Ball park from Highway 520: Take the Montlake Boulevard exit. Continue north on Montlake Boulevard, crossing the drawbridge. You will pass Husky Stadium and Hec Edmundson Pavilion on your right. When the road forks, bear right to stay on Montlake Boulevard. Turn right at Mary Gates Memorial Drive. Go one block and turn right onto Clark Road. At the end of Clark Road you will find the entrance to the E-1 lot. Husky Ball park will be on your right

Parking Information

Meals

 

No meals will be provided for this camp. Snack Bar will be available throughout the camp with drinks and snacks

Accommodations

 

This is not an "overnight" camp. Players traveling from out of town will be responsible for securing their own accommodations.

Airport Pick-up / Drop-off Information

 

All campers are responsible for their own transportation to/from camp each day for this commuter camp.

Merchandise

 

A camp store with WBS baseball merchandise will be available at New Husky Ball Park each camp day

Miscellaneous Information

 

What if I have to cancel a camp?
We do not offer refunds on cancelled campers, just a future camp credit if you decide to cancel, but we do have what is called "Cancellation Protection". We offer basic Cancellation Protection to allow participants some peace of mind in case plans change. This allows us to keep our prices low and provide the best service possible. Due at the time of registration, Cancellation Protection entitles you to a full refund of camp fees should you cancel your registration more than 7 days prior to the start of a day camp. If the refund is requested within 7 days of the camp the player will be refunded in full with credit toward a future camp.

Scheduling conflicts are not cause for refund

Washington Baseball School is sponsored and run by Head Coach Lindsay Meggs, and it may be held at the University of Washington and use some of the University's facilities. However, Washington Baseball School is not sponsored or run by the University, and the Coach and Coach's assistant's are not employees are agents of the University in their operating the camp
