Night Baseball Camp at UMBC
Summer Slam, one of the top Maryland baseball camps, is held at UMBC's Baseball Stadium. This is the premier night baseball camp in Maryland. Summer Slam is run by UMBC Head Coach, and former professional player, Bob Mumma.
This camp is for players of all skill levels between the ages of 12 and 18. Come enjoy this unique camping experience and feel the thrill of playing baseball under the lights.
Summer Slam provides professional level instruction, while giving campers a premier camping experience. Players receive instruction in all phases of the game. Special emphasis is given to a player's primary position. Pitching instruction, catching techniques, infield, and outfield play are highlighted. Summer Slam also discusses base running as well as speed and quickness training.
Not only will players get top level instruction, but they get to participate in modified scrimmages. Campers feel like a pro while playing under the lights. Parents are encouraged to stay and watch the skill sessions and won't want to miss seeing their kids during the games.
Family discount: When an additional family member registers you save $20.00
Team discount: Register a minimum of three teammates and save $20.00
Equipment: Each player must bring his own baseball equipment. Players should bring a glove, cleats, bat, running or turf shoes, hat, and any other equipment they feel necessary to compete. Catchers must bring their own gear.
Evaluatation/Feedback: We will give feedback during camp, but we do not provide a written evaluation for campers.

A medical and assumption of risk form must be completed prior to the start of the camp. Or you can fax it to Coach Mumma at 410-455-1536.

Camp will be held at the Baseball Stadium on the UMBC Campus.
From the north, take Interstate 95 to Route 166 (Exit 47B, Catonsville) or take Interstate 83 to the Baltimore Beltway (I-695, west) and then take Exit 12C (Wilkens Avenue, west); follow the signs to UMBC.
From the south, take Interstate 95 to Route 166 (Exit 47B, Catonsville); follow signs to UMBC.
Visitor parking is available at metered garages located at Administration Drive, The Commons Drive and Walker Avenue. Meters are enforced Monday through Friday for hours posted.
Meals will not be provided for this session. A snack, and personal drinking water are strongly recommended.
Camp Store available on site to purchase UMBC Baseball apparel.
Fee's include a $50.00 non refundable deposit. Campers may cancel prior to two weeks from the start date and receive a refund minus the deposit. Any cancellation inside of two weeks from the start date campers will not receive a refund.
