The idea of the Academy is to provide players a training environment where they can realize their goals of improving as a “Complete Baseball Player.” Top level training along with advanced methods, allows a young player’s potential growth in areas that normal team training does not allow. This concept is about the player’s development in all facets of the game. Whether you are a beginner or advanced player, you will receive hands on, intense baseball training.

Our goal at the Chicago’s Championship Baseball Academy is to offer an advanced level of instruction in a safe, controlled, fun environment that will enhance the player’s opportunity to reach his/her maximum potential.

Our baseball camps and showcases are a great opportunity to take your game to the next level. Each camp is hosted by our college staff here at University of Illinois-Chicago.

Description

This Memorial Day Advanced Hitting Camp is designed to cover various hitting drills and techniques in-depth.  In this 2 hour and 15 minute camp you will be broken up into the appropriate age group to learn swing fundamentals along with the approach all hitters need to know in developing a complete hitting stroke. Let the hitting coaches from University of Illinois-Chicago Baseball work this Memorial Day to improve your swing!  This camp is limited to 18 players. This small group setting maximizes the amount of instruction for players.  

 

Equipment to Bring:

Each camper must bring his or her own baseball equipment. Players will need their own bat, batting gloves, molded spikes or tennis shoes, and helmet.

This camp is an exceptional opportunity for kids ages 6-14 to not only develop their skills in our state of the art indoor baseball facilities but to also learn from the Division 1 coaching staff at UIC, Current Players, and also former players who are now currently in professional baseball. The UIC Baseball Coaching Staff has designed this camp with a ratio of 5 athletes to 1 coach in part to develop the skill set of each player attending, create a fun and learning atmosphere for the participants, and use the first class facilities on the campus of University of Illinois Chicago. This camp includes, but is not limited to the following activities - instruction in the following areas: (hitting/pitching/ infield/outfield/catching/baserunning/bunting/throwing). In addition to skill development using drill stations, the campers will participate in games, which will emphasize the skills taught earlier in camp. These games are often the highlight of camp as they are fun while reinforcing the previous skills taught. The fun activities will be used to increase each individuals passion for the game of baseball and daily activity. The skills and love for the game developed during these years will serve as the building block for future development in high school and beyond.

Weather interference will force us to go inside where we have cages and an indoor turf facility. We will not cancel anything because of weather.

All camps are open to any and all high school students. This camp will have a student to coach ratio no more than eight to one. Therefore, Championship Baseball Academy will limit enrollment to all camps to insure each camper will get the best possible individual instruction.

The camp will be held on the campus of University of Illinois Chicago, located in the Near West neighborhood of Chicago. The camp will take place at Curtis Granderson Stadium (We have indoor space in case of bad weather). 901 W Roosevelt Rd, Chicago, IL 60608

Miscellaneous Information

Cancellation Policy: Your camp fee, less $30.00 will be refunded if cancellation is made at least 10 days prior to the start of camp. After that date, refunds will be made for medical reasons only, accompanied by a signed statement from a physician.

 

Please check your email regularly as this is our primary way we communicate. Any additional information that we need to convey as the camp draws closer will be passed on to you via the e-mail address that you supplied when you signed up for camp. Please make it a habit to check your e-mail daily, this will eliminate any confusion and or miscommunication.

 

All Chicago Championship Baseball Academy Camps are open to any and all entrants, limited only by number and age.
