UC San Diego Camps Frequently Asked Questions:

I signed up for camp, what do I do now?

First of all, on behalf of the UC San Diego Baseball camp staff we would like to say THANK YOU for signing up for our camp. You should have receive a confirmation e-mail with details about the camp. There are required forms which must be completed prior to the start of camp. Please complete and return the forms at your earliest convenience.


What are the ages and abilities for camp?

Prospect camps are designed for student-athletes who have at-least started high school and are interested in possibly attending UCSD as a student-athlete. The instructional camps are designed for ages 8-18 and have more of an instructional focused schedule. Team Camps are for high school teams or high school age travel teams.


What should my child bring to camp?

Each player must bring his own baseball equipment; glove, bat, cleats/spikes, running shoes or turf shoes, hat, and any other equipment they feel necessary to compete. Catchers must bring their own gear. Helmets will be provided. Players should bring their own lunch while water will be provided.


Where are the camps located?

Camps are held at Triton Ballpark, home to the UCSD Tritons baseball team. It is located just east of the 5 freeway off of Voigt Drive, across the street from Scripps Memorial Hospital.


Directions and Parking: Where should I park and do I need a permit?

CLICK HERE to get directions to UCSD Baseball Facility. The best place to park is lot P701, just west of the stadium. You can enter the lot off of Voigt Dr. Additional parking is available in the East parking lot. Permits are required on weekdays and can be purchased at the pay station in each parking lot


Will lunch be provided?

Lunch will be provided for Prospect Camp and the ABC Summer Professional Baseball Camps. There will not be lunch for Team Camp participants.


What happens if my child gets hurt? Do you have a trainer at the field?

There will be an athletic trainer on site for Team Camp and Prospect Camp that will handle any and all medical needs for the campers. Please be sure to be as detailed as possible when filling out your camper’s medical form so that we may be prepared to manage your camper’s needs.


Can parents stay and watch camp?

Yes, parents are always welcome to stay and watch camp, as long as there is a clear understanding that you are only there to be a spectator.


Do you offer refunds for canceled enrollment?

If camp is cancelled, each camper will receive a full refund less the online processing fee. If a camper cancels, credit will be given for a future camp.


What is the easiest airport and train station for arrival?

UC San Diego is conveniently located 15 minutes from the San Diego International Airport. The UCSD camp staff does not provide shuttle service from and to the Airport. Transportation to and from the San Diego airport can be arranged through SuperShuttle or a local shuttle service of your choice. Reservations for SuperShuttle service can be made online at www.supershuttle.com.


Are there hotels close to campus?

All of the hotels listed below are within 1-2 miles of the baseball field. More hotels can be found in the surrounding areas of La Jolla, Carmel Valley, Del Mar, and Pacific Beach.
