Saint Louis University (MO) Camps Frequently Asked Questions:

What do college coaches look for at camps & showcases?

Depending on your camp location, coaches are looking for players that stand out or they are looking for players who play positions that they need to fill.

Just be yourself and let your skills showcase themselves. Don’t try to push to do something special, just work hard, be ready for camp, look the part and let nature take it’s course. If you present yourself professionally, work hard and have a good attitude, the coaches will notice you.

Do you accept walk-ups at registration?

Yes however, there is a $25 surcharge for registering the day of the camp.

What will happen if there is rain?

All events will occur RAIN or SHINE. Fortunately we have access to many of the athletic facilities at Auburn. We have plenty of indoor batting cages as well as use of other indoor facilities.

What is the best airport to fly into and how can I get to SLU from it?

The nearest major airport is St. Louis Lambert International Airport, which is 20 miles from Campus. From there you can either rent a car or take a taxi to a nearby hotel

What do we need to bring?

Campers should bring the following items: glove, baseball shoes, tennis shoes, practice pants, shorts, and a hat. If possible, catchers should bring their catching gear, and participants should bring their bat.

Clothing should match the weather conditions and campers should be prepared for any kind of weather. Please label all of your items! Also should bring YOUR OWN LUNCH! Campers will be given a 25 minute recess before the games to eat.

Will Coach Hendrickson be at the camp?

Yes! Coach Hendrickson leads all of our baseball camps and is very involved in providing instruction to campers.

Do I have to sign up for a primary position? What if I play multiple positions?

We suggest you play your primary position, if you play two we can accommodate you and try to get the player time at each one. If you are a pitcher and positional player you will only pitch 1 inning and the camp costs extra.

I only pitch, do I have to come to the whole camp?

If you are only a pitcher you can show up 30 minutes prior to the the start of the games. The cost for camp is 100$ if you are only a pitcher. You will throw 2 innings and max 3.
