Baseball tops St John's to claim third BIG EAST Championship
The Seton Hall baseball team won the BIG EAST Championship with a rousing, 4-2, victory over St. John's on Sunday. The Pirates took home their third conference title and earned the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Championship.
Working on just three days rest, senior Joe DiRocco (East Hanover, N.J.) pitched six strong innings, allowing just the one run on six hits with four strikeouts to improve to 8-1 on the season. His efforts earned him the tournament's Most Outstanding Player award.
Freshman Zack Granite (Staten Island, N.Y.) went 1-for-2 with two walks, a stolen base, and scored three runs to ignite the SHU offense.

Our baseball camps in South Orange, New Jersy offer the opportunity for players of all ages to receive quality instruction from some of the top baseball instructors in the game today. With a very low camper-to-coach ratio, campers receive personalized instruction focused on the development of their skills and attitude.
The baseball camp coaching staff develops the instructional and fundamental programs for each of the camps. Our primary goal is to help each camper develop a positive mental attitude about themselves and the game of baseball.
This camp is open to any and all entrants limited only by number, age, grade level and gender!

About Mike Sheppard Sr.
The family owned and operated Hustler's
Baseball School was founded in 1974. It is the oldest
continuous Baseball School in the area.
Mike Sheppard Sr. paid his dues working youth
baseball, through high school, American Legion baseball
and for 31 seasons as head coach at Seton Hall
University with 998 wins. Coach Sheppard is the
winningest coach in Seton Hall University history and
ranks him high in the all time collegiate records. He is a
three-time Big East Coach of the Year, who led his team
to 27 post season Big East and NCAA tournament
appearances.
Shep has tutored major leaguers
Craig Biggio, Rick Cerone, Charlie Puleo,
John Valentin, Mo Vaughn, John Morris,
Jason Grilli, Matt Morris and Dan Morogiello
and former Hustler's Baseball School and Seton Hall
Prep alumnus: Eric Duncan, Rick Porcello and
Joe Martinez to name a few. The key to Shep's
success has been a fundamental approach to the game of
baseball coupled with the Hustler's attitude.
