SEMO Baseball Camps

SEMO Baseball Camps offer an opportunity for players to receive valuable instruction on the fundamental skills of baseball. Campers will be made aware of the characteristics that define successful ball players. Organized games between campers will provide a competitive outlet after specific drills have been practiced. Contests built into drills capture the learner’s attention, which results in attentive practice.

 

Drill progressions will be aimed towards recognizing and developing good habits in all aspects of the game. General courtesy, respect for teammates and opponents and the importance of hard work will be taught to the campers through example by the Redhawks coaches.

Description

The overall mission of the camp is to offer a fun, instruction-based learning environment that offers a positive baseball experience for each camper and prepares each camper for their respective levels of competition.

 

The Redhawks Baseball Summer Youth Camp will be from 8 am to 11 am, Monday, June 10th through Friday, June 14th. The camp will consist of different stations and games that focus on teaching the fundamentals, skills, and rules of baseball.

 

Players will receive a camp t-shirt 

 

What to Bring

All Campers are required to bring their own baseball equipment. This includes: a glove, bat, helmet, tennis shoes/cleats, hat, and any other equipment that is necessary to participate and compete. Baseball pants are not required but are encouraged. Please dress appropriately as this camp will be outdoors.

Please label all of your gear. SEMO is not liable for the theft or loss of any Campers property.

Where: Southeast Missouri State University, Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Please note that the camp will take place at Capaha Park (weather permitting). If weather does become an issue we will run camp in the Student Rec Center we will communicate this information to you via phone or email. 

 

Southeast Missouri State University camps and clinics are open to any and all entrants, in accordance with NCAA camps and clinics legislation (limited only by number, age, grade level, and /or gender).

 

Check-in

Check in for will take place on Monday morning from 7:30 am to 8 am at Capaha Park. Directions to Capaha Park can be found below. Please ensure you are there to pick up your child at 11am. If someone else besides a parent will be picking up your child please communicate this information with us when your child is dropped off that morning.

 

Meals

Meals will not be provided at camp. Water will be provided at camp. Campers are encouraged to bring their own water bottle and/or cooler of drinks. Please alert us prior to the first day of camp of any severe food allergies. 

 

Waiver Information

Each player is required to have a medical waiver form completed by parent before they can participate in camp. Send medical form to Matthew Kinney at mkinney@semo.edu.

 

YOUR CHILD CANNOT PARTICIPATE UNTIL FORM IS SIGNED AND RETURNED!

 

All campers are covered by a group health insurance policy. A trainer will be at the camp and we encourage campers to talk to the trainer at any time during the camp. We also will provide a fully equipped training room located at Houck Stadium. Download Waiver Form

Parents will be able to park in the in the lot above or behind Capaha Field and in the lot outside of the Student Rec Center.

Players traveling from out of town will be responsible for securing their own hotel accommodations. We are open to helping assist in that process for any out of town campers. Please let Coach Kinney know if you are in need of a hotel room.

Refunds: Refunds requested within 7 days of the start of camp, or after camp has ended, will not be granted. The camp is staffed based on the number of registered campers and staff changes cannot be made last minute. Please ensure you can attend camp before registering.

 

What if I have to cancel a Camp?
We do not offer refunds on cancelled campers, just a future camp credit if you decide to cancel, but we do have what is called "Cancellation Protection". We offer basic Cancellation Protection to allow participants some peace of mind in case plans change. This allows us to keep our prices low and provide the best service possible. Due at the time of registration, Cancellation Protection entitles you to a full refund of camp fees should you cancel your registration more than 14 days prior to the start of an overnight camp, and 7 days prior to the start of a day camp. If you cancel within 14 or 7 days of the start of your session, we will give you a camp credit for all money paid. The credit is valid for three years from camp date at any of our camps. Credit with insurance is transferable to family members or friends, and good toward a future camp.

Any additional information that we need to convey as the camp draws closer will be passed on to you via the e-mail address that you supplied when you signed up for camp. Description

Southeast Missouri State Universitys Pitching Coach, Matthew Kinney, will be hosting the Summer Prospect Camp at Blessed Trinity High School in Roswell, Georgia. Kinney, a Blessed Trinity Alum and Georgia native, attended Blessed Trinity from 2007-2011 and played under Hall of Fame Coach Andy Harlin. Kinney ranks Top 10 all time in batting average, hits, and doubles in a single season for Blessed Trinity.

 

The camp will include instruction and evaluation in the following areas: 60 yard dash, defense, hitting, and pitching. The camp will also include a scrimmage (dependent upon weather). The scrimmage will be scripted according to the number of pitchers and hitters. Each pitcher and hitter will have ample opportunities to showcase their skills.

 

What to Bring

All Campers are required to bring their own baseball equipment. This includes: a glove, bat, helmet, baseball pants, belt, running shoes/turf shoes, hat, and any other equipment that is necessary to participate and compete. Catchers must bring their own gear. Please dress appropriately as this camp will be outdoors. Bring tennis/turf shoes. Metal spikes will not be allowed

Please label all of your gear. SEMO is not liable for the theft or loss of any Campers property.
