Drew Roberts


Head Coach

Drew Roberts is entering his first season as the head coach of the St. Andrews Baseball team, after being hired as an assistant coach for the Knights baseball program under previous Coach Matt Boykin in 2010.

Roberts came to St. Andrews from Ohio University (Athens, OH) where he gained experience by being a volunteer coach while attending graduate school. Also, during the summer of 2010, Roberts served as the head coach for Edmonton Prospects- Western Major Baseball League's summer collegiate team. Roberts also has recent coaching experience with the Great Lakes Collegiate Baseball League and the Cincinnati Six Amateur Baseball Organization.

As a student-athlete, Roberts played at Xavier University (Cincinnati, OH) on an athletic scholarship. During his collegiate career, he was chosen as the Atlantic 10 Conference Player of the Week Award multiple times and was also picked as the 2003 Preseason Atlantic 10 Rookie of the year.

Roberts holds a B.A. in Public Relations from Xavier University and recently finished an M.A. in Coaching Education at Ohio University. He now resides in Laurinburg, NC.

Greg Goetz


Assistant Coach

Goetz, originally from the state of Washington, comes to St. Andrews from Everett Community College (WA) where he was the pitching coach and the strength and conditioning coach for the last three seasons, while also being the pitching coach for the semi-pro summer team, Everett (WA) Merchants, for the past year.

Goetz has some experience as a head coach as well as he was in charge of the 19 and under team from 2009-2011 at the Laces Baseball Academy in Arlington, Washington.

Goetz won a state title at Newport High School in 2001 before being drafted by the Florida Marlins in the 35 th round in 2002. However, he decided not to sign and instead went to Washington State University for one year before transferring to Bellevue C.C. in 2003.

He was then drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the eighth round in 2004 and went on to play professionally for the Single-A Billings (Montana) Mustangs for three years and became the #2 ranked left-handed reliever in the Reds organization in 2006.

Goetz then decided to leave baseball and pursue a degree in coaching. He earned his master's degree in coaching education from Ohio University in 2012, after receiving his bachelor's degree in business administration from Central Washington University.
