Wade Townsend, Toronto Blue Jays
Following an evaluation of skills, campers will
concentrate on the techniques of hitting, throwing,
fielding, running, etc., through organized drills while the
team concept period will feature actual games and
Awards and evaluation forms will be presented to campers in all camps except showcase 1 and showcase 2.
Camp Philosophy: The continued success of the Rice Baseball Camps may
be largely attributed to the staff's commitment to the
individual player. Through limited enrollment, low
player/teacher ratios are maintained ensuring each
camper the quality instruction to maximize development.
Every effort will be made to instill in each participant the
muscle memory necessary to habituate correct form with
drill work and close supervision. The camps are under
the direction of Wayne Graham and the Rice baseball
staff. Instructors may include current and former Owl
players and area high school coaches.
The Rice Owls Baseball Camps will be conducted at
Reckling Park, home of the 2003 NCAA World Series
Champions. Since opening day in February of 2000, this
state of the art facility has ranked as one of the top
venues in college baseball. Amenities include spacious
chairback seating with cupholders, locker rooms for
umpires, home and visiting clubs, private luxury suites, a
fully equipped weight room and indoor and outdoor
Reckling Park located on the Rice University
Campus at 6100 Main. Primary entrances are #8 off
University Boulevard or #18 off Rice Boulevard. The easiest entry to Reckling Park is located at University and Stockton. We are in the first parking lot on your right.
