Be A Ram Camp

Grades 9-12

Location: Bill Beck Field-Kingston, RI

Tuesday, June 24, 2014

Starts: 10:00am / Ends: 4:00pm

Camp Description

The Be A Ram Camp is specifically geared for high school baseball players who have an interest in playing baseball at the University of Rhode Island. A number of our former and current players have made a name for themselves by way of our Be A Ram Camps.

The camp will consist of a pro-style work out (60-Yard Dash, fielding and throwing from position, and batting practice). Following this, we will split up into four teams and two games will be played in the afternoon. This will give our staff a chance to see you play in game scenarios. If you have to leave early for any reason, please let us know so we may get you in on the first game.

Players will also get the chance to tour the campus and meet with current players during the games! We look forward to meeting and speaking with all of you!

We suggest that all participants sign up early in order to ensure a place in camp!

Built in memory of former Rhode Island baseball and football coach, Bill Beck Field originally opened in 1966 and has since served as the home of the Rams.

In November of 2007, an anonymous donor pledged $1-million to the Rhode Island Baseball Program in order to initiate facility renovations that are designed to equip the Rams with one of the finest ballparks in all of New England! Seventeen months and $1.4-million dollars later, the 2009 Rhode Island Baseball Program had a completely resurfaced field consisting of the same artificial Field Turf used by the Minnesota Twins, Tampa Bay Rays and Toronto Blue Jays. Also included in the renovation project, we received a new backstop, scoreboard, fencing and bullpens.

Aside from providing URI with an outstanding competitive advantage, the improved facility also requires significantly less maintenance; which, in turn, allows the team to spend more time on the field throughout the year. After additional fundraising goals are met, the Rams plan to install lighting and stadium style seating!

Please check your email regularly as this is our primary way we communicate. Any additional information that we need to convey as the camp draws closer will be passed on to you via the e-mail address that you supplied when you signed up for camp. Please make it a habit to check your e-mail daily, this will eliminate any confusion and/or miscommunication.

Miscellaneous Information

What if I have to cancel a camp?
We do not offer refunds on canceled campers, just a future camp credit if you decide to cancel, but we do have what is called "Cancellation Protection". We offer basic Cancellation Protection to allow participants some peace of mind in case plans change. This allows us to keep our prices low and provide the best service possible. Due at the time of registration, Cancellation Protection entitles you to a full refund of camp fees should you cancel your registration more than 14 days prior to the start of an overnight camp, and 7 days prior to the start of a day camp. If you cancel within 14 or 7 days of the start of your session, we will give you a camp credit for all money paid. The credit is valid for three years from camp date . Credit with insurance is transferable to family members or friends, and good toward a future camp.
