Peterson Signs with Milwaukee Brewers

Rhode Island's Stephen Peterson has signed with Major League Baseball's Milwaukee Brewers as a free agent and will report to the Brewers' rookie league team in Arizona.

"Like every kid who grows up playing baseball, I've dreamed about this my entire life," said Peterson. "I'm just really thankful for getting the opportunity to go out there and achieve my goals."

Rhody's Recruiting Class Recognized by Baseball America

Rhode Island and Charlotte (Southeast Region) were the only Atlantic 10 teams mentioned in Baseball America's listing of top recruiting classes by region.

The Rhode Island baseball program continues to get noticed for bringing in some of the region's top recruits. For the second consecutive year, the Rams are featured in Baseball America's listing of top classes by region (outside of the Top 25).

Teams are encouraged to attend all camps and clinics

There is a medical History/Liability waiver attached to your e-mailed receipt and this form is also available on-line. Please mail this completed form to:

Where and when is check in?

Check In is times are 30 to 45 minutes prior to the start of camp. Outdoor Camp/Clinic Check In is held at Beck Field. Indoor Camp/Clinic Check In is held at Tootel Gymnasium.

 

How do I get to camp? (Driving directions)

From Newport
Take Route 138 West towards Jamestown and New York
Merge onto Routh 1 South
Then take a right onto Route 138 West
Follow 138 West for approximately 4.5 miles
The Athletic Complex entrance will be on your right.

From the North
Take I-95 South
Take Exit #9 - a Left Hand exit to Route 4 South towards Newport/South County
Merge onto RI-4 South
Take exit #5B Route 102 towards Exeter
Take a left at the first traffic light onto South County Trail - Route 2
Follow Route 2 for approximately 7 miles
Take a left at the traffic light onto Route 138 W/Kingstown Road
The entrance to the Athletic Complex will be on your left (approximately 2 miles)
Follow parking lot around Mackal Field House, Beck Field is on your left.

From the South
Take I-95 North
Take exit #3A Route 138 West towards Kingston and Newport
Follow Route RI-138 West/Kingstown Road for approximately 8 miles
The entrance to the Athletic Complex will be on your left.

What meals are provided?

A concessions stand is open during all camps. There is a lunch break in the middle of each camp. Rhode Island Baseball merchandise will also be available for purchase.

 

What is a typical day like?

Campers will rotate from station to station throughout the day with each station teaching a different aspect of the game. Summer camps we play games in the afternoon. All High school campers are put through a pro style workout with some instruction in the morning and games in the afternoon.
