Baseball to Establish 'Diamond University' Life Skills Program

Being a collegiate baseball player takes more than just putting in time on the field and in the weight room. In addition to practices and games a student-athlete must also excel in the classroom and in the community, but balancing all of these requirements takes skill and determination. Read More

CSUN Elite Day in the Life Prospect Camp (Position Players)

11/17/2018 - 11/18/2018 ~ Saturday - Sunday Registration Ends: 11/15/2018$300.00 | Matador Field Northridge, CA 91330

The Day in the Life Prospect Camp is a great way for high school aged as well as JC athletes to gain knowledge and experience for what it is like to play college baseball at the Division 1 level. This unique camp provides attendees a look inside the Day in the Life of a Matador baseball player. The camp will begin with a short "SPARQ" workout. Here we will work to gain speed, power, agility, reactions, and quickness. After SPARQ on day 1 we will walk over to the classroom to take part in a Diamond University life skills session. This is the corner stone to the value in our camps here at CSUN. This classroom session will connect the three aspects of life: athletics, academics, and social.

The afternoon on day 1 will consist of defensive evaluations. Each player will be given the opportunity to take reps at their positions. Once defense is complete, we will break into teams and play a game. Day 2 of camp will have a similar schedule in the morning as Day 1. This is the "Day in the Life" concept at work. In the afternoon each participant will get a chance to go through a batting practice rotation similar to a Matador game day BP. After BP, we will break into teams and play games. Each player will receive position specific reps and a minimum of three at bats.

Times: 9:00am-3:00pm (may run longer depending on the length of the scrimmage)

Each Player must bring his own baseball equipment. Players should bring a glove, bat, cleats, running shoes/turf shoes, hat, helmets, and any other equipment they feel necessary to compete. Catchers must bring their own gear and all campers must bring their own baseball pants.
