Denny played 8 years in the Majors, 12 years total in professional baseball as a second baseman, with the Phillies (’67-’73), Angels (’74) and the Red Sox (’75-’77). He was blessed to start at second base in arguably the best World Series in baseball history, with the 1975 American League Champion Boston Red Sox. As early as 1971, Denny was a pioneer in utilizing video at the Major League level, assessing and evaluating his fellow players such as Mike Schmidt, Larry Bowa, and Greg Luzinski, to name a few.
Following his professional career, Denny combined his passions for baseball and youth/player development with this education background (BA in education from Morehead State University) to establish Doyle Baseball in 1978, and he continues finding new and innovative ways to share his expertise with athletes just learning the game to those at the professional level. In addition, his playing and scouting background affords him the opportunity to stay a step ahead of the industry in evaluating and developing ball players.
