Dirtbags Baseball Camps @ Long Beach State University

The Dirtbag Baseball Camps at Long Beach State University provide some of the finest college baseball camps, high school baseball camps and instructional skills clinics in Southern California. Whether its a weeklong summer camp, winter holiday camp or fall ball clinic they do it all.

Our baseball camps are staffed by the Long Beach State coaches and players. We pride ourselves in playing the game the right way. The “Dirtbags” way. It is this philosophy and tradition that has led Long Beach State to be one of the top college baseball programs in the country.” Dirtbag Baseball Camps are open to any and all players but spaces are limited.

Dirtbags baseball camps offer fundamentals in throwing, hitting, bunting, fielding mechanics, outfield play, base-running and pitching. Afternoon scrimmages will help each participant develop their new skills and elevate their level of play. Camp space will be limited to help the coach to camper ratio. The staff prides itself in hands on instruction and making each camper enjoy the “Dirtbag experience.”

Hitting Instructional Camp (Thursdays-4 Sessions)

Description

The Dirtbags hitting camps are designed to teach the different components of the swing; mechanical, mental, and technical.  Based on the ability of the camper, the session will be adjusted to teach at the hitting level and aptitude of each participant. Space for each session is limited to ensure interaction with coaches and to give the coaches the ability to group campers in each session with like ability hitters.  In these four session camps, participants will learn the same foundation work and techniques current and former LBSU Dirtbags learned when developing their swing. Campers will also have the option to purchase video analysis of their swing to get in-depth feedback of what the coaches see in the camper's swing.

 

Consists of 4 days of 1-hour hitting instruction.

 

Cost: $140.00 for all 4 sessions 

 

Dates: November 1st, 8th, 15th, 29th

 

Times: Thursdays from 6:00pm-7:00pm

 

Note: Make ups can only be done if other sessions have space. We will not guarantee make ups will be available.

 

Equipment 
Each player must bring his own baseball equipment. Players should bring a glove, bat, cleats/spikes, running shoes or turf shoes, hat, and any other equipment they feel necessary to compete. Catchers must bring their own gear. Helmets will be provided.

 

Check-in

Check In: The groups are small so hitters can arrive at an appropriate time they feel will allow them to prepare for hitting camp as we start promptly at the time designated for their session.

 
Check Out: Is up to 30 minutes after the camp session is completed. Campers will not be signed out after each session.

 

Waiver Information

Each camper attending the Long Beach State Dirtbag Baseball Camp must be covered by his or her parents' insurance. Any and all medical expenses resulting from injury or illness will be the responsibility of the camper's private insurance company. Download Waiver Form

What if I have to cancel a camp? 
We do not offer refunds on cancelled campers, just a future camp credit if you decide to cancel, but we do have what is called "Cancellation Protection". We offer basic Cancellation Protection to allow participants some peace of mind in case plans change. This allows us to keep our prices low and provide the best service possible. Due at the time of registration, Cancellation Protection entitles you to a full refund of camp fees should you cancel your registration more than 14 days prior to the start of an overnight camp, and 7 days prior to the start of a day camp. If you cancel within 14 or 7 days of the start of your session, we will give you a camp credit for all money paid. The credit is valid for one year from the camp date and can be applied to any Dirtbags Baseball Camp (hitting, winter break, summer, etc.). Credit with insurance is transferable to family members or friends, and good toward a future camp.

 

Athletic Trainer: An athletic trainer will be provided during camp. In the event of an emergency the EMS will be called.
