Porch signs with Pensacola

The Pensacola Pelicans have signed University of North Alabama outfielder Chase Porch to a contract with the minor league team.

Porch was a two-year standout at North Alabama and earned All-Gulf South conference and All-South Region honors this season. In his senior year with the Lions, Porch hit .374 and had 53 hits with 45 RBI's on the year. He also brings a solid defensive presence to Pensacola as he posted a .980 fielding percentage and tied for the team lead with 21 stolen bases. The Pelicans are hoping Porch can provide more depth to an already deep 2010 squad.
