Camp Description

 

This 1-week intensive Sunday morning camp is designed for dedicated players and teams (ages 13-18) looking for quality workouts to expand their baseball skills and take their game to the next level while preparing for the upcoming Spring season.

Instructional stations and drills will promote the development of individual and team fundamental skills for hitting, throwing, pitching, fielding, defensive position-specific instruction and base running.

These sessions will feature quality hitting instruction and building a solid hitting foundation from the ground up while getting plenty of repetitions to prepare for the upcoming season. Pitchers will receive focused instruction and critique on proper mechanics, form throwing, balance, grips and release points with an emphasis on control and development of off-speed pitches during daily bullpen work. Instruction on proper pick-offs techniques and pitchers fielding practice fundamentals will be included. Emphasis will also be placed on the development of catching, infield and outfield fundamentals through effective practice drills. All players will perform proper warm-up stretching, conditioning, speed, agility, and base running drills, and participate in focused sessions on mental preparation, game strategy and keys to improving their overall hitting, pitching, catching, infield and outfield play.

Players are grouped by age, physical maturity, experience and overall ability to maximize skill development. To enhance personal attention, our camper/staff ratio will not exceed 6-to-1.

Our Winter Instructional Baseball Camps will emphasize building a solid baseball foundation through quality instruction and the use of innovative and diverse equipment. Our goals are to improve each player's fundamental skills in an enjoyable atmosphere and increase their confidence in all facets of the game of baseball. Under the direction of experienced instructors and counselors dedicated to helping each and every camper become a better baseball player, each player will be given the individual attention necessary to improve their skills. Simply, we want to help each player get better and have fun doing it while preparing players to the fullest for their upcoming spring 2014 try-outs and seasons and their next level of baseball competition. We look forward to providing a memorable and worthwhile experience for all participants.

Facilities:
All camps are held at the Catholic University DuFour Athletic Center which includes state-of- the-art drop down batting cages with additional hitting skills areas, indoor defensive areas, portable pitching mounds, pitching machines, indoor running track, video instructional equipment, fully equipped weight room with strength, injury prevention and plyometric conditioning equipment and a multi-purpose Field Turf outdoor practice field.

Evaluation / Feedback
We will give feedback during camp, but we do not provide a written evaluation of every camper.

Medical Staff
The camp employs a Catholic University certified athletic trainer. The trainer will be on site during all sessions to provide prompt and professional care to all campers.

Equipment:
All players should wear basketball or tennis shoes only when inside the DuFour Athletic Center. Black soled shoes, cleats and turf shoes will not be permitted during indoor activity! All players should bring a gym bag for their equipment and provide their own baseball glove, shoes, batting gloves, hat and wear a protective cup. Bats and helmets will be provided, but campers are encouraged to bring their own. Catchers must wear a protective cup and should bring their own equipment, as well. Most importantly, all players should CLEARLY MARK THEIR PERSONAL EQUIPMENT in advance of attending the camp. The Ross Natoli Baseball Camps, LLC, is not responsible for participant's personal equipment or personal items lost, stolen or misplaced during participation in this camp.

In addition, we may conduct some of our defensive and base running stations outside on our newly installed Field Turf multipurpose field, weather permitting. Therefore, please come prepared each day to dress appropriately to work-out outdoors for 45 minutes. Players should bring a long sleeve shirt, sweatshirt, jacket (windbreaker), sweatpants or baseball pants, and turf shoes or cleats.

Camp Check-in

 

Check-in and registration will begin 30 minutes prior to each camp in the1st floor lobby of the DuFour Athletic Center. Parents are encouraged to attend a short orientation meeting on the first day of each camp session and are welcome to observe all camp activities each day if they desire.

Each camp day, players can be dropped off and picked up at the entrance to the DuFour Athletic Center but parents should park in the DuFour Athletic Center parking lot at all other times. Players will be available for pick-up in the DuFour Center lobby at the end of each camp session. Prompt parent pick-up is appreciated.

Camp Waiver Information

 

In order to participate in Ross Natoli Baseball Camps at Catholic University, each participant must complete the CAMP WAIVER INFORMATION FORM. This completed form must be submitted in advance of participation in any camp. Participants should also bring a completed version of this form to your selected camp for submittal at camp registration and check-in. This form can be faxed or scanned in advance and e-mailed to the attention of:

Parking Information

 

Parents and other drivers should park in the Dufour Athletic Center parking lot at all times.

Meals

 

Meals are not provided. Beverages and concessions will be available for purchase at the DuFour Athletic Center.

This is not an "overnight" camp. Players traveling from out of town will be responsible for securing their own hotel accommodations.

Miscellaneous Information

 

INCLEMENT WEATHER:
Ross Natoli Baseball Camps, LLC, reserves the right to postpone any camp due to inclement weather or unforeseen scheduling conflicts. In the event of inclement weather, campers are urged to call the camp hotline at (202) 319-6092 before leaving home. All changes in schedules will be announced at least one hour prior to camp start time. If camp is postponed, every attempt will be made to reschedule it at the earliest convenient day and time. If a make-up date is unavailable, credit in the amount equal to one day of the cost of the camp will be issued. This credit may be used for any future camp. Ross Natoli Baseball Camps, LLC, will not be responsible for sessions missed for personal reasons, and will not guarantee any make-up.

REFUND POLICY:
Refunds will be issued for cancellations up to one week before the start date of the enrolled camp session. Camp credit, which is valid for one calendar year, will be issued to the camper for cancellations less than one week before the start date of the enrolled session, or during the session, and will have a value equal to unattended camp days. Cash refunds will not be offered for cancellations less than one week before the start date of the enrolled session or during the session.
