Wayne Mazzoni

Coach

Wayne Mazzoni is a current NCAA Division I coach, and a former college athlete. He is a published author, national lecturer and counselor on the subject of college athletic recruiting. Mr. Mazzoni has been a guest on nearly all U.S. sports radio stations, including WFAN Sports Radio 660 in New York. He has appeared on Fox, ABC, News 12, Fan TV, and other television programs. He has led seminars at hundreds of high schools across the country and at state athletic director conventions in New York and New Jersey.

Mr. Mazzoni is an assistant baseball coach at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut. Previously, he was the assistant coach at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts, and head baseball coach at Post University in Waterbury, Connecticut for six years. Prior to coaching the Post Eagles, he was an assistant coach at Fairfield University in Connecticut, and Nova University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He is a 1991 graduate of Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania, where he played both football and baseball. Mr. Mazzoni also holds a Master of Science in Sports Administration from St. Thomas University in Miami, Florida.

Wayne began his college coaching career in 1992, and quickly learned that the recruiting process is not much easier for college coaches. Each college has only a few coaches recruiting, trying to cover athletes from all over the country. In an effort to help make the process easier for both athletes and coaches, he wrote The Athletic Recruiting and Scholarship Guide (now in its third edition and still the only book of its kind written by a college coach). The book has been featured in US News and World Report, News 12, ABC News, Fox Good Day New York, Amazon.com, Westwood One Radio, WFAN Sports Radio, and at retailers across the nation.

The book expanded to an in-school presentation program, Get Recruited: The College Athletic Recruiting Seminar. The program has since been delivered at over 300 high schools, many of which have made it an annual event. Coach Mazzoni's seminar has been presented to nearly 100,000 students, parents, coaches, athletic directors, guidance counselors, and principals across the country.

The book, seminars and this site are not part of a recruiting service (meaning, Coach Mazzoni does not market athletes to colleges), rather, they are a way parents and athletes can learn about the process of recruiting, and subsequently do all they can to put the student in the best possible position. To date, our books, videos, seminars, and courses have helped student athletes learn about the process of athletic recruiting, and ultimately achieve their goals of getting accepted at a great school, and becoming college athletes.
