Seton Hall baseball senior Chris Affinito

Seton Hall baseball senior Chris Affinito (East Brunswick, N.J.) has signed an undrafted free agent contract with the Oakland Athletics becoming the first Pirate position player to join a Major League Baseball organization since Tim Pahuta was drafted in 2005.
Affinito began his Seton Hall career as a catcher before moving to first base and eventually a full-time designated hitter. In his four years, he started 151 of the 166 games he appeared in posting a career batting average of .286 with 168 base hits - including 33 doubles, five triples, and 28 home runs - 127 RBI, and 88 runs scored. During his junior campaign, the 6-2, 235 pound right-handed batter held a .308 batting average in 52 starts leading the Hall with 40 RBI and 10 home runs while tying for the team-lead with nine doubles, en route to being named to the All-NJCBA Second Team.
In 2009, Affinito finished second on the team with a career-high .324 batting average while leading the team with 50 RBI, 14 doubles, nine home runs, and a.560 slugging percentage. His on-field accomplishments led to him earning All-BIG EAST and All-NJCBA First Team honors.
To date, Affinito is the third Seton Hall player from the 2009 roster to be picked up by an MLB organization following teammates Sean Black (Mt. Laurel, N.J.) and Keith Cantwell (Tinton Falls, N.J.) who were drafted by the New York Yankees and Arizona Diamondbacks respectively.

SHU Camp FAQs
Q. What is your refund policy?
A. We do not offer refunds on canceled campers, just a future camp credit if you decide to cancel, but we do have what is called "Cancellation Protection".
We offer basic Cancellation Protection to allow participants some peace of mind in case plans change. This allows us to keep our prices low and provide the best service possible. Due at the time of registration, Cancellation Protection entitles you to a full refund of camp fees should you cancel your registration more than 14 days prior to the start of an overnight camp, and 7 days prior to the start of a day camp. If you cancel within 14 or 7 days of the start of your session, we will give you a camp credit for all money paid.
The credit is valid for three years from camp date at any of our camps, clinics or prospect events. Credit with insurance is transferable to family members or friends, and good toward a future camp.
Q. What should I bring to my baseball camp or showcase camp?
A. Many times the camp itself will have a recommended list of items to bring to camp, but here are a few things to help you. All position players should bring a bat and glove. Look like a baseball player by wearing a hat, jersey, belt, baseball socks, etc. You need to look the part. If you are a catcher, have your own gear. Hitters, bring your bat and helmet just in case. Don't expect to use the college's equipment and you must be ready to go! Borrow something from a teammate or coach if you do not have one.
