Palmer Signs Professional Baseball Contract

After finishing his career tied for the fourth most wins in school history, former Georgia State baseball pitcher Will Palmer has been signed to a free agent contract by the Laredo Broncos of the United Baseball League. He becomes the second member of this year's graduating class to sign a contract to play professional baseball.
Palmer joined the club a few weeks ago and has already made two starts, earning a win in 12.2 innings pitched. This is the fourth year that the UBL has been in existence, playing an 80-game schedule, much like the popular Northern League in which teams are not directly affiliated with major league organizations.
In three years as a member of the Panthers, Palmer started 41 games, tied for the fourth most in school history, striking out 183 in 259.2 innings pitched, the seventh most innings throw by anyone in a Panther uniform. He finished his career with three complete games, including one complete game shutout.
This past season, he filled in primarily as the number two weekend starter, leading the Panthers to their first-ever CAA Championship and appearance in the NCAA Regionals. He started the Panthers first-ever NCAA Regional game, holding Georgia Tech in check for most of the game. Georgia State won a school-record 39 games and with the help of Palmer, broke the school strikeout record by more than 100.

GSU Camp FAQs
Q. Are the camps opening to Junior College Players?
A. Yes, most camps are open to Junior College Players, unless specified otherwise.
Q. What should I bring to my baseball camp or showcase camp?
A. Many times the camp itself will have a recommended list of items to bring to camp, but here are a few things to help you. All position players should bring a bat and glove. Look like a baseball player by wearing a hat, jersey, belt, baseball socks, etc. You need to look the part. If you are a catcher, have your own gear. Hitters, bring your bat and helmet just in case. Don't expect to use the college's equipment and you must be ready to go! Borrow something from a teammate or coach if you do not have one.
