Tigers Bring in Sixth Signee for 2009-10

Head Coach Ed Sprague announced the signing of a sixth player for the 2009-10 campaign, as he welcomes aboard Jacob Hummel (Peoria, Ariz.), a 6'5" and 215-pound pitcher and outfielder from Scottsdale Community College. Hummel originally hails from Peoria, Ariz.

Hummel joins five other players, John Haberman (Stockton, Calif.), Patrick O'Rourke (Elk Grove, Calif.), Bobby Raymos (Lodi, Calif.), Dustin Torchio (Santa Cruz, Calif.) and Andrew Wild (Visalia, Calif.), in signing an early national letter of intent for the 2009-10 Pacific Baseball season.

Jake gives Pacific the option of a big bat in the middle of the line up as a hitter, and will compete for a starting role from the pitching mound. In 2008, he finished 12th in ERA in the National Junior College Athletics Association for Division II.

"We're really excited to get a two-way player from such a quality school in Arizona," said Sprague. "He has an opportunity to come in and make an immediate impact on our club next season."
