What is USA Baseball?

Since 1978, USA Baseball has been the national governing body for the sport of baseball. It represents the sport in the United States as a member of the U.S. Olympic Committee (USOC) and internationally as a member federation of the International Baseball Federation (IBAF).

Nearly every major national amateur baseball organization in America is united as a USA Baseball National Member Organization. As a result, USA Baseball governs more than 12 million amateur players in ballparks and playgrounds across the country. As the commissioner's office for amateur baseball, USA Baseball is a resource center for its various membership group, fans, and players. USA Baseball is also responsible for promoting and developing the game of baseball on the grassroots level, both nationally and internationally.

What is the current international age determination date?

The current international age determination date states your birthday must fall on January 1 or later of a specified year to be eligible for particular age groups. The age a player reaches during the calendar year of the international competition will serve as his competition age.

(For example, if your son/daughter wants to play on the 18U National team in 2013, he/she must be 18 years old or younger during the entire calendar year. If your son/daughter would turn 19 on December 1 of 2014, he/she would not be eligible to participate with the 18U National Team because his/her competition age would be 19, regardless of his/her age during the time of the tournament.)

If my son makes Team Southern California, does he play with them the whole year or does he only play with them for the USA Baseball NTIS event?

Players who make Team Southern California only play with Team Southern California for the three day period of the NTIS. The program is designed to make minimal impact on the players other commitments. The team also includes players from Hawaii.

What will players wear when they travel to Cary, NC if selected to Team Southern California?

Players will receive a uniform package that will consist of 2 game jerseys, cap, socks and belt when they travel to Cary, NC.

Does my son need to attend all of the So Cal NTIS events to be named to Team Southern California?

No, he would only need to attend at least one event to be considered for the team. Players from Southern California will receive invites from events throughout the year attend the So Cal NTIS Games where the majority of the roster will be selected for the team.

The Hawaii College Camp will serve as the event where High School players will have an opportunity to be selected for the team. The camp will be the early part of December this year.

What schools will be attending the So Cal NTIS College Camp Games?

This year this will be a college camp rather than a showcase. We will have colleges from DI to JC's that will work the camp. Schools that attended last year were Arizona State, UC Santa Barbara, UC Riverside, Cal State Northridge, Cal State LA, Cal Poly Pomona, Loyola Marymount and Concordia University to name a few.

Hawaii will have up to 10-15 different colleges that will work the camp. Schools expected to work the camp are University of Hawaii, Temple University, Hawaii Pacific University, Hawaii-Hilo, Holy Names, Arizona Christian, Puget Sound, Concordia University, Colorado Northwestern and Arizona Western to name a few.

Will any teams play games before traveling to Cary, NC?

Currently there are no games set up for 2013, however last year the 17U Team played the 18U USA National Team in an exhibition at Cal State Fullerton prior to their trip to Cary, NC. We won't know if we are able to play the 15U or 18U USA National Teams until they know their schedule and training for 2013.
