Duke Baseball Camps, hosted on the campus of Duke University in beautiful Durham, North Carolina, provide some of the finest youth and high school baseball camps in the country. We offer a wide range of camps: prospects camps, specialty clinics focusing on specific areas of the game, and traditional summer camps. Whether you are a young player just learning the game, a middle school player ready to take your game up a notch, or a high school player with aspirations of playing at the next level, Duke baseball has a camp to suit your needs.

 

Head Coach Chris Pollard and his staff are present for all camps and take great pride in the quality of instruction, always ensuring a 1 to 8 coach to camper ratio. Each of the camps and/or clinics that are offered at Duke are specifically designed and structured to help build the fundamentals and confidence of the individual player. All Duke Baseball Camps and Clinics are high energy with great attention to detail and safety. We want your experience at Duke baseball camps to exceed your expectations. All Duke Baseball Camps are hosted at historic Coombs Field on the campus of Duke University. With a field-turf playing surface, a 6,000 square foot indoor facility(featuring batting cages and indoor mounds), and a covered grandstand with seating capacity for up to 2,000 people, Coombs Field is an ideal venue to host a great baseball camp experience.

The Duke Baseball Prospect Camp represents a great opportunity for prospective student-athletes, who are committed to playing at the next level to showcase their abilities to top academic college programs, in a camp setting that provides an opportunity to improve and refine their talents.This camp is designed for the high school player who has aspirations of playing baseball at the highest level (College or Pro).

 

We hire other college/high school coaches to work our camps in addition to our Duke Coaches. Other coaches that have worked previous camps have come from the following schools: Harvard, Dartmouth, Columbia, Bucknell, Swarthmore, Davidson, UNCW, Gardner-Webb, Milligan, E. Tennessee St, Bard, Catawba, Pfeiffer, and Belmont Abbey.

 

The intensive two-day format will emphasize individual position play, hitting fundamentals, and live game experience. If you are a prospective student-athlete who wants to play college baseball at a highly academic institution, this is the camp for you! If the refund is requested within 7 days of the camp the player will only be offered credit towards a future camp. Without written request prior to the start of camp, no refunds will be processed. All camp credits are good for one year.

  • High speed video analysis of your throwing patterns and pitch data from Rapsodo, which will measure velocity, spin rate, total horizontal & vertical movement of each pitch, visual shape of pitch path.
  • Classroom sessions with P360 manual & hands on training for: Effective Velocity, warmup, arm-care, training all energy systems, long toss, creating movement patterns, identifying throwing inefficiencies, nutrition, recovery, neuromuscular blending, myelination, and elite mindset training.
  • Hands-on instruction for all mobility corrective exercises, pitch pattern corrective exercises, throwing drills, power developing movements.
  • Pitching 360 instructional manual, hyper-individualized training plan designed to maintain arm-health and improve your velocity, command, and off-speed pitches.

This specialized camp is for pitchers and catchers who are serious about their future in baseball. Campers will go through eight sessions of intense training during the clinic day.  A routine is established for the camper that focuses on specific areas needed for success in high school, college, and professional baseball. Each camper will be working with top collegiate coaches from Duke, current Blue Devil players, and others.  Each area of the academy will be tailored to specific age groups; focusing on in-depth review of each camper's individual mechanics. Video analysis will be used with each player to determine specific drills and workout routines that best fit that player's development. Roster size for the pitcher-catcher-hitter academy is extremely limited so that each camper receives a maximum amount of individual attention.
